- An introduction that prepares students for the lesson
- A warm up activity which can be used to determine what students already know, to generate interest and/or to establish an atmosphere for team work.
- The main activity with emphasis on the chosen teaching technique
- Guided practice that allows students to use what they have learned
- Review session that reinforces the major points of the lesson
