Experience Teaching
As you prepare for any career - especially teaching - you should enhance your skills by choosing part-time jobs, internships, job shadowing and other activities that provide relevant experiences. Consider experiences that enhance your teaching ability, your knowledge of your subject matter and your understanding of the careers for which you are preparing students.
Teaching Ability
The art of teaching combines organizational and presentation skills. You can improve your presentation skills by joining Toastmasters, participating in a local theater group or offering to run meetings for clubs in which you participate. Social studies majors might become involved in political organizations, work with the media or travel with a camera and journal.
Career Correlations
Today's world allows us to combine our talents to create interesting career opportunities. The relevancy of classroom material can be enhanced with an understanding of how the world of work uses various skills.
