Gore Says "Education Is Everyone's Job." We Provide the Tools.

Changing education requires innovative work by all of education's stakeholders.

Champaign, IL. - Talking of his plans to lead America, Al Gore said in his acceptance speech, "I know that teaching our children well is not just a teacher's job, it's everyone's job, and it has to be our national mission."

Carol Timms, President of Educational Dividends, agrees. "Success requires nothing less than shared responsibility. To see long lasting, positive results, our schools will need leadership from our political leaders as well as each of education's stakeholders. Educators, parents, students, business leaders, government leaders and community members must come to the table to discuss goals, solutions, resources and ways to evaluate progress in improving our schools." says Ms. Timms. "And the tools to achieve results from this dialogue are available at last."

Educational Dividends developed and piloted the Community Partnership Initiative (CPI) as a way for education's stakeholders to work together on common goals at a local level. Mr. Gore said in his speech, "We can't do it without new resources, and that's why I will invest far more in our schools."

Ms. Timms knows that the investment in resources is key to the success. Education's stakeholders must be willing to give of themselves. Ms. Timms says, "Barriers need to be removed before everyone can understand each other's needs and work together. CPI gives them common ground to begin their work and enables the partners to be accountable to each other and produce results for schools and students, " says Ms. Timms.

Ms. Timms is experienced in facilitating partnerships related to educational change. Her company, Educational Dividends, takes a proven approach to strengthening education through project design and business/ education partnerships. "I know that an innovative approach to educational partnerships offers strength to our schools and improved learning for our students. I encourage all leaders to expand on the successes of our company to bring the needs and ideas of all stakeholders to the table for education." Educational Dividends, based in Champaign, Illinois, began in 1994 and has served tens of thousands of students throughout Illinois.
