"Revolutionary Improvements" in Education Are Here
Champaign, IL. - Democratic Presidential nominee Al Gore spoke of his
plans for education last night calling for ".. revolutionary improvements
in our schools, for higher standards and more accountability..."
Revolutionary improvements are already taking place in schools across
Illinois through two projects created and managed by Educational Dividends
of Champaign, Illinois.
Educational Dividends' President, Carol Timms says, "We offer
innovative tools that revolutionize the way students learn and provide a
new approach for community involvement in education. Our work is leading
the way, bringing new ideas, higher standards and a framework for
accountability to our educational system."
Mr. Gore said, "We will offer all our people lifelong learning and new
skills for the higher-paying jobs of the future... we will do bold things
to make our schools the best in the world." Ms Timms agrees that bold
steps forward are what we need to ensure quality learning for all
students.
"I recognized a need to teach students more than basic concepts.
Students must know how to apply those concepts, to learn and to solve
problems. These are the skills students need in a quickly changing
workforce. Educational Dividends' projects are also relevant and
challenging for students motivating them to learn and gather skills that
prepare them for life.. for lifelong learning," says Ms. Timms.
Educational Dividends, takes a proven approach to strengthening
education through project design and business/ education partnerships.
Educational Dividends mission is to change the classroom paradigm to
consistently produce creative, self-learners who are employable. "Our goal
is to establish "win-win" relationships between business and the
educational community and deliver educational products and projects that
integrate technology, standards-based learning, leadership and workplace
skills," says Timms.
Since 1994, Educational Dividends has worked with tens of thousands of
students in Illinois' K- 12 schools. Educational Dividends designed and
