Home Schooling
Statistics are tough to gather, however, it is estimated that at least 1 million U.S. children are being taught at home and the numbers are growing. Reasons for choosing home schooling include religious beliefs, concern about violence, issues related to peer pressure and a perception of poor academic quality in traditional schools.

Home schooling is legal in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. It is also regulated. Home Education Magazine
