Teacher's roles shift from lecturer to facilitator in Educational Dividend's educational model. Learn about this innovative approach to education in our Facilitative Learning primer. |
Project Design
At Educational Dividends, the focus is on facilitative learning. By training teachers how to lead students to explore for themselves, students are better prepared for life in the work world.
The facilitative learning model works well for all types of learners, from elementary students to education professionals. Read below about our successes with this training model.
Student Power 2000
Educational Dividends designed and manages Student Power 2000 for ComEd. ComEd sponsored this project to provide quality education to students in its service area. By asking students to perform energy awareness campaigns, energy fairs, and energy audits, ComEd has spread their corporate message of responsible energy use to the students, teachers, parents, and communities in the Chicago area. ComEd has received accolades from participating communities and maintained customer loyalty because of their sponsorship of Student Power 2000.
EnergyNet
EnergyNet is a classroom project that integrates technology, standards-based learning and workplace skills. Created and managed by Educational Dividends in conjunction with Illinois teachers, EnergyNet helps prepare students for today's workplace.

Students in grades 3-5 participate in Energy Detectives. They learn substantial content in Math, Science, Technology and Language Arts in a hands-on environment.
Students in grades 6-12 use their skills to perform an energy audit of their school. EnergyNet is in the midst of a nation-wide expansion where students and businesses from all over the country will have the opportunity to work together. To view EnergyNet's successes, view Best Practices on the EnergyNet web site.
