EnergyNet
EnergyNet The Illinois business, education and governmental communities have joined together in an unprecedented act of cooperation on behalf of Illinois' children. Over the past six years we have worked together to create EnergyNet - an educational model that works for all students. EnergyNet has three components:

Energy DetectivesEnergy Detectives

Using topics of interest to students - energy, money and the environment - Energy Detectives demonstrates standards-based, technology-enhanced learning at its best. Students in grades 3-5 form Detective Agencies to solve The Great Energy Caper. The curriculum is divided into seven cases which provide students with basic energy information and opportunities to discover ways for their school to save energy.

Energy Auditing

EnergyNet's Energy Auditing project for grades 6-12 provides teachers with a proven, effective and unique method for meeting learning standards and school improvement criteria. This project, developed by Educational Dividends in cooperation with classroom teachers, motivates students to learn and apply the content in a variety of disciplines as they work to solve a real-world issue: The responsible reduction of the costs of energy in their school building.

Community Partnership Initiative

Parents want a better educational experience for their Community Partnership Initiativechildren. Now there is an initiative that enables them to join together to realize practical improvements in their schools. The Community Partnership Initiative (CPI) is a pilot project which provides parents, business people and community leaders with the tools to support effective educational classroom projects which teach real-world skills and create more knowledgeable, self-motivated students.

Professional Development Training

QuestionA question is a powerful tool. Educational Dividends can help teachers use it effectively.

When students ask questions and find the answers for themselves, they get involved in their own learning. Educational Dividends knows how powerful that can be for the student and the teacher.

Educational Dividends also knows that creating a facilitative learning environment brings challenges for teachers. Through three unique training opportunities, we provide teachers with tools and techniques to effectively incorporate learning standards, problem solving, cross-curricular lessons, technology, community involvement and teamwork in the classroom.
